How Robot Taxi protects your privacy while still making Jamaica’s roads measurably safer.
Robot Taxi operates under the Jamaica Data Protection Act 2020. Our lawful basis is documented per processing activity; data subject rights (access, correction, deletion, objection) are supported through the data protection officer contact below. Registration with the Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC) is in progress; current status is published on request.
Every submitted image is passed through an on-ingest face-detection step that blurs human faces before the image is stored. This is non-optional and applies to every submission, including internal review views.
Submissions are linked to an anonymous device identifier (a cryptographic hash, not a contactable identity) unless the user has signed in. Personal identifiers — name, email, location history beyond the submission point — are never attached to the submission payload shared with partners.
AI inference is performed by Google Gemini under a Data Processing Addendum (DPA). Image data leaves Jamaica for the duration of the inference call and is not retained by the processor. This transfer is documented under the OIC cross-border framework.
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Requests are responded to within the statutory window. Contact the data protection officer:
